Developing sustainable technologies.

Developing sustainable technologies.

Let’s look at ways of producing electricity from the one force available to us 24/7, available on every square meter of the planet and non depleting when we use its force to produce energy. GRAVITY! Any ideas?

Points

Perpetual motion was an analogy, based on the principle or law of diminishing returns. Yes the whole project, Snowy 2.0 has been shambolic. The reason why they may never finish it is because before commissioning the project, the feasibility study was not professionally done. The ground they are attempting to bore the tunnel through is not suitable for a tunnel structure and the core drilling samples that would have exposed this, were never done or completely ignored by the management.

Hard to acheive in our local area, but is perhaps a technology that should be added to a broader education piece about sustainable energy sources (the way they work, limitations, operation style, fuel style, lifetime etc) in our schools and local info campaigns or websites

Pumped hydro has already proven to be a nonsense investment. As per most of the knee jerk reaction, so called climate action measures, there was little to no evidence it would actually work. There was no Cost Benefit Analysis done and look at the end result, what was supposed to cost 2 billion dollars, is not even half finished and it is already up to 12 billion dollars and still speculating on whether it will actually work because of realistic physics principles, perpetual motion does not exist

We are already doing this with pumped hydro as a form of gravity battery. Other forms of gravity batteries are being investigated, but we need renewable energy sources and batteries that can be deployed at scale now.

Pumped hydro is not a perpetual motion machine. Yes, the management of Snowy 2.0 has been shambolic, but it will work when it is finally finished.
